How to apply

All applications will be examined by the Scientific Committee  and students who have been accepted will be informed via e-mail.

The members of the Scientific Committee are members of the IUPAC Interdivisional Committee on Green Chemistry for Sustainable Development ICGCSD.

Selection criteria

Selection criteria for students to be admitted both on site and online:

Be fluent in English

Age limit for attendees is 35 years (a few exceptions to the age limit may be considered if well-documented)

Receive strong support of their application by their academic advisor and/or by an internationally renowned scientist, who knows the applicant well; a letter of recommendation is indispensable for the application

Deliver a comprehensive CV together with the application form

Not already have a permanent position (for this, the professional/employment status must be clearly indicated). Some motivated exception will be considered for people coming from less advantaged Countries

Not have participated in a previous Summer School of Green Chemistry

Commit themselves to being present for the full duration of the Summer School sessions

All attending students are expected to present posters dealing with their research work

Deadlines

  • Deadline for applications for paying students onsite participation is May 15th, 2024.
  • Deadline for applications for paying students online participation is June 18th, 2024.
  • Payments for participation onsite should be made by May 25th, 2024.
  • Payments for participation online should be made by June 18th, 2024.

*Late Applications sent after the deadlines will be subject to an increase of the fee of 150€ Vat Included.

Registration Fees

  • In person Full registration fee: 850€ (VAT incl.), including accommodation, breakfasts, coffee breaks, and lunches for 5 days in the new Camplus Apartments in Venezia (Calle Larga Santa Marta – Dorsoduro 2137)
  • In person participation without accomodation: 450€ (breakfast, lunch for 5 days and social events)
  • Accompanying person: 400€ (breakfast, lunch for 5 days and social events)
  • On-line Full registration fee: 170€ (VAT incl.)
  • In person participation without accommodation only for Ca’ Foscari University’s students : 350€ (breakfast, lunch for 5 days and social events)

*We kindly ask all students to take into account the currency exchange from foreign currency into euro when paying their fee.

The fee includes for the whole period (5 days):
lectures, materials and administrative costs.

Any device and/or tool needed to attend the online lessons (e.g. computer, internet connection and so on) won’t be provided nor financially covered by the School.

Deadline: May 25th, 2024. Payments should be done only after communication of admission to the Summer School by the Organizing Committee. Late admissions on site  are subject to a payment of 1000 € (VAT included).

Receipt can be sent by the Green Sciences For Sustainable Foundation Office after reception of payment to the address the student will indicate. The following data are requested for the receipt: name, surname, residence/domicile address, social security number / fiscal code, etc.

Two Scholarships for young Italian Chemical society members

The Interdivisional Group of Green and Sustainable Chemistry of the Italian Chemical Society (SCI) is offering two Scholarships dedicated to young PhD and post-doctoral who are member of the Interdivisional Group of Green and Sustainable Chemistry (age limit 35 years old) and work in the field of Green and Sustainable Chemistry. The scholarships are of 450 € each and do not include accommodation.
Deadline of application 15th April 2024.

Scholarships for less advantaged countries

Deadline for scholarship applications of students from developing countries is March 5th, 2024. Applicants admitted to the grant will be informed via e-mail by the 15th of March 2024.
